Competitive Analysis: privacy
Last updated October 17, 2026.
Competitive Analysis is a skills-only plugin for ChatGPT and Codex. It is a set of written instructions the model follows. It runs no server of mine, holds no accounts, and has no way to send anything to me.
What I collect
Nothing. I never see your prompts, the companies you research, the reports it produces, or who you are.
Where your data does go
- To OpenAI, as with any ChatGPT conversation, under OpenAI's privacy policy.
- To the public websites the model fetches while researching, including the company's own site, the Internet Archive, and public job boards. Those sites see an ordinary page request from OpenAI's infrastructure.
- To any research plugin you have connected yourself, such as Exa, Firecrawl or Clay, under that vendor's terms. With Clay, that's the company's name and domain, never a person's. The plugin never asks you for a key and never stores one.
